The RAGBRAI Altoona committee has worked endless hours to make Wednesday’s event a huge success for not only our sponsors and vendors, but also to give back to the community. After expenses, which are hefty, if there are any monies remaining, those funds will be donated to the Altoona Community Foundation.
The Altoona Community Foundation (ACF), which was created by the 2010 Altoona Leadership Class, is a donation driven foundation of the Altoona community with a goal to establish a better quality of life by virtue of philanthropy. They work to challenge great giving within our community and serve as a leader for community betterment. The Foundation is part of the Greater Des Moines Community Foundation, which allows the organization to get better tax incentives, and the funds are governed locally.
